Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, aka Ari Lennox, was born in Washington, D.C. on March 26th in 1991. She is an American musician and singer. She was the first artist signed by J. Cole to his record label Dreamville Records. Her first EP, Pho on October 21 2016, was released on Dreamville Records. She began to gain fame. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music online in 2012 after she released her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox release her own single Bound, as well as her mixtape, which she released herself, Five Finger Discount. The 21st day of July, 2015, Omen included her in Elephant Eyes' track Sweat It Out. J. Cole had her send her songs for the Dreamville Team later in the year because he was hoping for Rihanna to be able work together on a few references. It was announced on December 8, she signed with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October of 2016 the singer-songwriter released her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was accompanied by EarthGang. In 2018, she performed as a guest on two songs with the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed released, followed by a music video September. Then on November 9 she dropped two more singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. The 13th of November, she released two more singles called The No One and Pedigree. She then appeared as a guest on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26, 2019 for her debut album the same name. A music video was released on February 20, 2019 to accompany the track. Within the first week, it had over 3 million views. The singer was a part of 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December the year 2018.
